I hate the Visa fraud department. I got a call a few days ago from them saying "Ack! Suspicious activity on your TCF card!" So I called their little 1-800 number and got this automated system to tell me which transactions they were worried about. Two were definately me but one of them didn't match anything I could remember so I pushed the "no I'm not sure about this," button. Rather than allowing me to speak to anyone or ask any questions the machine then informed me that it had frozen my check card and someone from TCF would be contacting me. I foolishly assumed that in a case of suspected fraud that would mean the next day. Three days later... TCF's online checking has finally caught up with the reality of my account and I discover that it's the automated withdrawal for my cell phone, three days later than normal and a couple dollars less than the bill said. And it came out at 3:00 in the freaking morning. I call the fraud department back and they have no clue so I call TCF. They've cancelled my card without ever having contacted me and no they aren't automatically sending me a new one I have to call a different number and order it. So I now have no ATM/Check card. AND the freaking fraud department is calling me again. Mercury must be retrograde. Februrary is off to a very frustrating start.
