The UN thinks Houston is a model city?!?!
"As a model city, Houston will be a center of activity to build public support for the United Nations and its activities. Other model cities are Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Seattle and Denver."
"Houston represents a microcosm of what America will be in 20 years,"

I don't think I want Minneapolis sharing that honor.

Succubus... What a fantastic term. This guy has a series of blogs (scroll up for the more recent entries) about his experience with:
"There are, I believe, many women out there that are pure evil.

They exist for one reason; to enslave men. Such women are often called, “Succubi.” Demons, female demons, come up from hell to Earth. They take the form of a woman and, once they find a man, they suck the life out of him. They take him away from his friends. They put a leash around his neck and make him their bitch. Once they get a hold of a man, the man becomes addicted to them, and nothing short of a miracle can save them."

I'm annoyed. The top big headline on the Drudge Report last night was 'AIDS vaccine within 5 years' and everyone acts like this is new news.

For the record: I've been telling everyone to invest in VaxGen for the past two years. It's a cheap stock, it's newsworthy, and if it turns out to be effective it's going to go sky high.

Second: It's not new news. VaxGen presented their research at the last AIDS conference and possibly at several previous ones. They've been on CNN the BBC and NPR several times in the past few years. They are the furthest along in vaccine research. Until this past year they were the only one doing phase III clinical trials (humans). They're very promising but they're not the only ones with a vaccine in the works. They had a deal where they could cut off the phase 3 trials a year early if the vaccine was clearly effective and they didn't do it. So maybe this one won't be the silver bullet.

Well Crat is out enjoying the great American road trip. Meanwhile his kitty misses him. We'd play with her more but she thinks Benno is pretty damn scary.
