The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.

"F= fantastic" Read the t-shirts of teachers at a Florida school. The school received a failing grade from the state for the second year in a row. The children believe the F rating stands for fantastic or fun.
Ahem.
This is the same state that lost a little girl who was in state custody and didn't realize she was missing for over a year. The same state where child-welfare workers pass out drunk in the drivers seat of their car with a kid in the back. What the hell is going on in the sunshine state?!? It is as Uthant so pithily informed us: THE MOST FUCKED UP STATE IN AMERICA.

You're kidding right? No? Words fail me to begin to even expose the idiocy inherent in random drug testing for a high school parking permit.

More crap in Zimbabwe. Hear that crickety echo? Where are the demonstrations? The online petitions? The angry denunciations from Chomsky? The nonstop news coverage of the humanitarian crisis? Why are only conservative bloggers and the effin' CSM covering this?
Update: the London Times has an article covering the story, and there'll be a BBC report tonight. Finally they begin to catch on.

Awww... screw it! I'm finding a new host and I'm finding new blog software. This is just too much of a pain in the ass. If I have to figure out CGI so be it. Expect that this site may be down sometime in the near future as it moves to a new server.

On an entirely different note: it's 51 degrees! I'm cold! I don't have any furnace filters and the AC is still running upstairs. This is August. This is the first week of the RenFest. (Those poor camping artists.) It should not be cold yet. I'm not done enjoying the dog days.
