The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.
--Cornelius Tacitus (c. 116 A.D.)

The first person who bitches about this in my presence will call down the full weight of all my history books upon their head. (probably at least 30 pounds and an hour long harangue.) In a time of war, (any doubts as to whether we're almost if not already there?) people who have a possible loyalty toward the enemy country are considered enemy aliens. No it's not ok to put them in internment camps. Monitoring them is ok. It's a time of war. If you're unclear as to the legalities, look it up. It's called the Enemy Alien Act. Now there are real questions as to whether this should be applied to naturalized citizens in this case, with the possibility of sleeper cells and whatnot. However, in order for reasoned discourse to happen people must have a firm footing in the law.

Duh. It's called herd immunity, assholes. No matter how much you may wish that it be almost as good after as it could be before, it's just not. Remember all the trouble people had giving blood after 9-11? Imagine people who aren't motivated by altruism but are instead motivated by fear of death and disfigurement. Again and again they hesitate because the risks of the disease can't be quantified. Well guess what? We're grownups. We're allowed to make risky medical decisions for ourselves. On the upside it looks like things are swinging that way. On the downside it's still not fast enough.

"What a mystery is this, that Christianity should have done so little good in the world!
Can any account of this be given? Can any reasons be assigned for it?"
You are John Wesley!

When things don't sit well with you, you make a big production and argue your way through everything.
You complain a lot, but, at least you are a thinker and not afraid to show it. You are also pretty
liked by people, and pretty methodological about your life and goals. You know where you're going.
Some people find you irritating, so watch out for people leaving you out of things they do.

What theologian are you?
