Whooo Hooo! Yeah!
"Moderate drinking was about as good for the heart as an hour of exercise a day. Not drinking at all was as bad for the heart as morbid obesity.

The key to maximizing the benefits from any form of alcohol may be to take small quantities regularly "like any drug," Dr. Rimm said a glass with every evening meal, rather than half a dozen glasses only on Saturday nights."
Turns out I'm really healthy. Now I'll just go sit down with a nice glass of merlot and watch Changing Rooms. Ahhhh.

Bastards! So stupid. The number of "partial birth abortions" performed per year in this country is less than a thousand. There are only a handful of places that perform the procedure, none without a medical reason. It's not like a woman can walk into the local Planned Parenthood and say, "Gee, I'm eight months pregnant and I don't want to be. Give me an abortion." If even half the late-term abortions are performed because of catastrophic fetal defects or risk to the mother, then the number of procedures that these people are worked up about becomes ludicrously small. But of course the numbers are never discussed.
But it's a step. It's a topic that an ignorant public can be led by. People have a visceral emotional reaction when the procedure is described. It focuses the attention on the fetus rather than the woman. In any abortion the fetus is going to die. The purpose of dilation and extraction is to protect the woman. It is a minor variation of the standard dilation and evacuation procedure used in second term abortions and protected by law. The actual procedural difference is simply that the fetus is dismembered prior to removal in dilation and evacuation. That is what the proposed law will mandate. But of course late-term abortions aren't their real goal, anymore than "sensible restrictions" are the real goal of the gun-control crowd. Assholes all.
