"So. Our ancestors clawed their way out of the caves, fought behemoths with their bare hands; survived earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, meteor showers and plagues, all so their descendents could sit on the road and wail."

The sad thing is that I don't credit
them with the intelligence or honesty to be embarrassed once this is all over.

Eeeeew. First vomit now shit. I understand that the personal is political but this is quite beyond that. What's with the fixation on bodily fluids? Blood, vomit and shit. I haven't heard about any urine yet but I'm sure it'll come. Then again urinating on the streets of San Fransico isn't very shocking so maybe they won't.

Fuck it I'm just going to go ahead and make this page SUPER slow.

a.) The soldier doesn't look much older than those kids does he?
b.) A caption suggested somewhere: "Building the future one M&M at a time."

Well I don't know that I have enough of a death-wish to actually carry either of these to a march but they're funny.

Of course any reporting out of a war-zone merits a greater than normal degree of skepticism, but
this is totally unsurprising to me.
"A group of American anti-war demonstrators who came to Iraq with Japanese human shield volunteers made it across the border today with 14 hours of uncensored video, all shot without Iraqi government minders present. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor with the Assyrian Church of the East, told UPI the trip "had shocked me back to reality." Some of the Iraqis he interviewed on camera "told me they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start. They were willing to see their homes demolished to gain their freedom from Saddam's bloody tyranny. They convinced me that Saddam was a monster the likes of which the world had not seen since Stalin and Hitler. He and his sons are sick sadists. Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head."

How shocking, sometimes the US isn't the greatest evil in the world. The same thing happened last time. Peaceniks got over there and had their definition of evil altered.
