Two lovely posts on what it means to be a woman today.
First, an expression of feelings that I think every woman has at some point. Second, an analysis of what they mean, what to do about them, and a swift kick in the pants, slightly harsh but just as true.

Dude! Sharia law needs to go the way of the Dodo, like now.
"Malaysian Muslim men can divorce their wives through text messages on mobile telephones, the New Straits Times daily reported yesterday, quoting a religious adviser to the government.

Hamid Othman, adviser to Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, said divorce via SMS or short messaging service was in accordance with sharia law if it was clear and unambiguous.

"SMS is just another form of writing," Hamidas said, following an Islamic court decision on Thursday that ruled in favour of a man who served divorce on his wife using SMS.

Islamic law permits a man to divorce his wife by declaring the word 'talaq' - I divorce you - three times."

Y'know. I really do appreciate the Visa fraud department. I like that they call me and say "Was that really you?" but they always flag the oddest charges. Like my cellphone bill. It comes out of my account automatically. Sometimes it comes out at like 4 in the morning. Roughly the same amount, charged every month, for over a year. I don't understand why they think that's suspicious. Or putting $5 in someone's Amazon tipjar. That gets flagged too. When I charge something over $1000, do they call me? No they do not. I don't get it.
