Thank heavens for a
rational judge. The McDonalds lawsuit has been tossed out again. My favorite part: "The two plaintiffs in the case, which sought class action status, were born in 1984 and 1988. McDonald's lawyers had argued that the plaintiffs were too young to have seen or be affected by the 1987 print ads attached as exhibits in the suit. The Plaintiffs' lawyer could not be immediately reached for comment."

I sure wish someone had told me
this when I bought my house. Home inspectors are worthless. The guy who inspected my house gave me a big fancy written report detailing all of the really obvious problems (like not enough outlets in the dining room and an old roof,) and completely missed some important things (like asbestos and a miswired and dangerous stove.) Fortunately the things he missed weren't missed by the other friends I had in to check the house, and I didn't get burned. I knew someone who did asbestos removal and I was already planning to gut the kitchen. But I would never buy a house without having trusted experts go over it with a fine toothed comb.
