WARNING this is horrific.
Compare and contrast:
"KATSINA, Nigeria (CNN) -- A Nigerian woman sentenced to be stoned to death for having a child outside marriage has had her appeal against her conviction for adultery adjourned. Death by stoning for consensual sex. Something less for this:
Mother-of-four Amina Lawal, 30, was told her case will not be heard by the Islamic appeal court until August 27 -- two days after the date set for her execution.
But the court reassured her the execution will not go ahead before the appeal has been heard.
Lawal, whose life has been on hold for a year, is one of three Nigerians sentenced to be stoned to death for having sex outside marriage due in court this week.
The cases are expected to turn the spotlight back on a bitter battle over Shariah law in Nigeria.
Lawal was convicted and sentenced by an Islamic Shariah court in March last year after giving birth to a baby girl more than nine months after divorcing.
Pregnancy outside marriage constitutes sufficient evidence for a woman to be convicted of adultery according to some Northern Nigerian states that apply strict Shariah law.
An appeals court stayed her execution for two years to allow her to wean her baby.
The adoption of Shariah law, which punishes theft with the amputation of hands, has stoked violence between Muslims and Christians in Africa's most populous state. More than 3,000 people have been killed.
"Man, 45, gets 40 lashes for raping four-year-old girl Allow me to point out that this little girl's life is ruined. Quite aside from rape at the age of 4, she will be ostracized because of it. She will have great difficulty finding a husband. She will live with the stigma of her "lost honor" for the rest of her life. And he gets 40 lashes; afterwards he will no doubt move somewhere else and continue his life as a cleric.
By Idris Salisu, Gusau
The Upper Sharia Court Gusau has sentenced a 45-year-old man, Mallam Tukur Aliyu to 40 strokes of cane and a fine of N10,000 for raping his four-year-old student.
When hearing the case, the court noticed that Tukur asked the little girl to meet him at his room to collect a scroll. As the girl entered the room, the cleric ordered the young girl to undress after which he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
After he had finished, the cleric noticed that he had injured the little girl and became jittery. He then went out and told her to remain in the room until when he returned.
The court was told that before Tukur could return with an a different set of clothes for the girl, she had sneaked out of the room with blood rushing under her legs and staining her clothes.
As she was moving, some people who live nearby Tukur's house stopped her and asked her what happened. As the little girl was narrating what really happened, the anxious Islamic scholar emerged and he was immediately arrested.
Tukur was then handed to the vigilance group (hisba) who rushed the little girl to the hospital for the treatment. Delivering his judgment, the Sharia court judge, Mallam Dahiru Mohammed Gusau ruled the case by sentencing the accused Islamic scholar to 40 strokes of the came including fine of N10,000.
The Sharia court judge Mallam Dahiru Mohammed told the accused Islamic scholar to fear the Almighty God as every human being would give account of his deeds hereafter."
Sharia law is barbaric. The culture that would breed such examples is barbaric.

Oh for the love of... Why? Castro is a bad man and Cuba is a miserable place. Lifting the restrictions will cause a flood of tourist dollars to flow right into the coffers of a brutal regime. I'd love to travel to Cuba. My grandparents honeymooned there. But I won't go until the people are free.
I don't understand why so many people seem to think that it's a worker's paradise. Or why so many celebrities want to have their picture taken with the dictator. People don't flee 90 miles through shark infested waters on chunks of styrofoam to leave paradise. This is Cuba.
On the other hand... Perhaps a deluge of american tourists and dollars will be destabilizing.

Well that's interesting. As with most "conspiracies" I don't think that this is a "mwah ha ha we're sooo evil" intent issue. It doesn't really matter what the intent is though. If this is accurate it means that MO3 is going to be a big pain in the ass. I disapprove of pain in the ass software.
