Oh the ignorance on display here. Nuclear weapons are designed to be dropped out of planes and not detonate unless armed. I highly doubt this one was armed and even if it was, a ladder is not going to set off a nuke. The likely reason for firing people is because they weren't following set safety procedures. Let's just say the missile cost $20 million. (A low estimate, the next generation costs over 30.) If you violated company policy and procedure at work and destroyed a $20 million piece of equipment do you think you might be fired? This is the dumbest sort of political posturing. This is the equivalent to insisting that if a cop drops his gun a mile away in your neighborhood you're entitled to an explanation because you could have been shot. We have more important things to worry about people! You can be anti-nuke but at least be rational about it.
