I finally caved. When we first got up here we signed up for a slightly above basic cable package. Even though we're in a town big enough to have their own police station and we could almost literally spit and hit the cable/phone company office, there's no digital cable up here. Well ok. We can learn to live with DSL again. 40 channels should be plenty.

Except when 34 of them SUCK. Granted, we haven't gotten jobs sorted out yet and it's that nasty second half of winter so we're spending more tv time than we probably will in the future unless one of us is sick. Still, there comes a point when $50 a month for a picture that breaks up at least once per show and a crappy channel lineup seems like a much worse bargain than a dish. I generally don't like them because they hiccup and experience interference but if we're getting dish quality reliability for a vastly inferior product, well, enough. Also, we can get Comedy Central if we get a dish. So satellite ho!
