Housing bubble tips.

What did I tell you? This puts the lie to the justifications for the new bill insisting that very few people end up in bankruptcy through no fault of their own. Those evil serial filers must be made to pay! It's all irresponsible people with huge houses, boats and cars!

Why make a special exception for Katrina victims rather than recognize that the justification for the law was half-truths spun by credit card lobbyists? Like we'll never be hit by another natural disaster. (Like no one ever gets hit with that 20% of horrendous medical bills that insurance doesn't cover.) Only next time it might not be big enough news to prompt a special exemption by congress. The bankruptcy bill is bad law. Learn the lesson now and squawk at your reps to repeal it.

All those homeowners still owe the full amount of their mortgages. How many insurance companies will invoke the 'act of God' clause in their policies? How many people have no job no house and no savings?

FYI Emeril's spaghetti sauce sucks donkey nuts. I LOVE garlic and it's too toxic with garlic for me to finish eating. Bleah.

Now this is just one report, but it should be a
reminder. There are at least 4 guns larger than Katrina leveled in our direction. Are you in a position to self-quarantine for a month or more? What will you do if your entire town is ordered quarantined? We may get astonishingly lucky and dodge the bird flu bullet this winter. We're still overdue for a massive epidemic. In this age of globe-trotting it's beyond foolish to ignore the potential. Remember SARS? We can't dodge every bullet.

I certainly hope that none of you have any illusions left about the ability of the government to save you in the event of a disaster. Imagine the anarchy if something else were to happen now. Or if a disaster were to strike 3 or more areas across the country, ever. It's certainly not impossible. It's happened before. I've been telling you to buckle up and be ready. This is your warning people. You will get no sympathy from me if you fail to prepare after all this.
