This is important. Money plays a huge role in geopolitics. China is a danger to us because they're closely linked to our economy and they're unstable, not because they're so big and strong they're going to surpass us. The last 15 years for Russia and Japan are instructive. China is going to have a very rough time during the next US recession.

feel like the last days of the dot-coms again? It should. Here's a set of numbers to ponder: 74% of the population lives above the poverty line. 69% of the population own homes. The average home price has doubled in the last 5 years.
