Snort. And uh... where exactly do you cities propose to buy your food from? Remember that whole dustbowl thing? Do you really want to defend your urban SUV use? What about shipping produce thousands of miles year-round in trucks that burn oil? How about bottled water?

That produce is grown using petrochemicals. Cow farts and cow manure give off methane, or "natural gas" or "a greenhouse gas." That produce is grown by those same Mexican migrant workers you fear, yet rely on to wash your dishes.

Remember all that e. Coli in your fresh organic juice and on your bagged spinach? That's what happens when you're relying on underpaid illiterate workers to harvest and package your "unprocessed" food. Just like in Mexico: buy it whole and unpeeled, wash it in clean water, and process it yourself. Or else you run the risk of lazy sanitation on the production line that you don't see. If you exploit a slave class they'll spit in your food.
